John Harrison Landscape photographer, winner of the Aperture Nature Photography
Workshop contest
This Show Written & Produced by Michael A. Garcia
This broadcast features John Harrison, a photo enthusiast and Silicon Valley marketing professional located in Sunnyvale, California. I first saw his work displayed in Rok Bistro. He will tell you how to get your work displayed, what you should display, and how to markets and sell prints, postcards and note cards.
John takes many of his landscape photos in and around Northern
California locales including San Francisco Bay Area, Monterey Bay, Big
Sur and Yosemite.
John's interest in photography started with a Kodak Instamatic Camera
when he was just a kid. John followed the footsteps of his father and
grandfather who were photography enthusiasts complete with darkrooms.
John was recently selected as one of the winners in the 2nd Aperture Nature Photography Workshop Contest. The same photo, "Nature's Firefall", a picture of a Sunset in winter of Horsetail falls off of El Capitan, Yosemite in Winter 2007 has been selected by the
North America Nature Photographers Association to be in its
members showcase for 2009, one of only 100 images out of the 5000 that were submitted by nature photographers. This is nature's version of the old Fire Falls where they pushed burning embers over Glacier Point.
